I'm a software engineer, and I like to make things that go fast, work right, and help businesses. I have an obsession with making sure the job get done well, it's an engineer thing :)
In my education and my salaried work, I have had a breadth of challenges and responsibilities. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Science, which is a CS degree with a focus on networking and IT concerns. My first job out of college was a mix of data collection applications in Python, data analysis in Matlab, and programming web back ends to automate data collection, analysis, and presentation.
Since then my jobs have separately reflected many of the same tasks: programming web backends (Python and Node.JS); creating consistent testing and development environments; managing web sites and services using Amazon Web Services; collecting and analyzing data then automating the process.
